Charles Brooks received a BA in Music in 1990 from the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
In 1994 he became a part of the premastering department at the BMG Sonopress plant in Western North Carolina.
He mastered Sonic Solutions and became adept at fixing audio problems of all kinds.
Having access to thousands of hit masters, he used the AQAID software to analyse thousands of recordings made from the 30s to today.
He worked on countless albums in the BMG, RCA, and Arista catalogs during the 1990s and 2000s.
At the time the plant was one of the largest and busiest in the world. He worked 60 to 80 hours a week for 12 years.
Now retired from that life, he masters albums from his own mastering studio,
and enjoys keeping up with the latest in technology and standards in the audio recording field.
